Congratulations!
Congratulations to my wonderful husband, who was officially named a Managing Director today! We found out a few weeks ago (I was sworn to secrecy-- in a "don't put it on the blog, yet" kind of way) that it would be happening, but the official announcement was made this afternoon at his office.
This is Brad's next step in taking on more leadership with his company, and something he has been working on for a long time. I am so proud, and I know that he is going to do a wonderful job. Congratulations, Brad!

Date Night...AND what went well this week!
It's finally Friday! I hope you all had a wonderful week!
Don't worry. I know I didn't post about it yet, but we did have the chance to celebrate date night tonight, on our four month wedding anniversary. We were celebrating all kinds of accomplishments on our date night this week, and hopefully I'll be able to post about everything shortly. Sorry for being vague, but stay tuned for more info.
Anyway, Tuesday ended up being date night, and we headed to Bethlehem to eat at a restaurant recommended to us by some friends. We were raving about our dinner at White Orchid (which you can read about here) and they recommended Thai Thai ii in Bethlehem (sorry, they don't have a website). We decided to give it a try, and really enjoyed our meals. We both had Pad Thai, and I thought it was good (Brad really enjoyed the coconut soup). I thought the Pad Thai was even better when I ate the leftovers for lunch the next day.
We took an after dinner stroll through downtown Bethlehem, then headed home. It was a good, relaxing evening--exactly what we needed.
The rest of the week seemed to fly by, but here are some things that went well this week:
Blessings!

- dinner (and playing games!) with friends
- good news
- my first paycheck from my new job
- meeting some wonderful volunteers with hearts of gold
- appreciating God's timing
- new opportunities

BIG NEWS
It's official--my job searching days are over. :)
I was offered --pending a successful completion of a background check--a position with the Red Cross of the Lehigh Valley. After months of job searching, I an excited and relieved to have found a position that I think I will really enjoy. My official title is Youth Service Specialist, but I pretty much get to work with the youth volunteers and with local middle school and high school Red Cross clubs. It sounds like it will be rewarding and entertaining!
My wonderful husband even brought home some beautiful congratulation flowers last night after hearing the good news.
Isn't he the best? :)
We already had plans to have dinner with our downstairs neighbors, so Brad made a delicious meal and we celebrated with our new friends.
I'm thinking that some celebratory ice cream (and shoe shopping!) is in order.
I start my new job on Monday--I'll be sure to keep you updated!
Blessings,
Nikki
