What, no date night last week?

Of course we had a date night last week! Actually, it was more of a date day...or days. Brad and I were very fortunate to be able to travel all over central PA around Christmas to visit family and friends. By the time New Year's weekend rolled around, we were ready to NOT get in the car. So, not travel is what we did.

Since Brad gets to make his own schedule, and I do too (yeah!), we were both able to work half-days last week, and spend the evenings together. We also BOTH had off on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, so we got to spend lots of time together. It really was a lot of fun. We also managed to get in a couple workouts:

I think that Friday would have been considered our "date day." Brad got up early and got to cooking some delicious meals for some friends of ours who just had a baby. We got to visit with them and meet baby Charlotte (who is adorable!). We also got to spend some quality time with Brad's grandmother, which was a real treat.

On Friday afternoon we made a trip to the mall (I managed to sweet talk Brad into giving me his Macy's gift cards to put toward a new purse, since he DID get an iPad...and I got a toothbrush). We stopped at the Allentown Farmer's Market to pick up some fruit and veggies before heading home to a wonderful home cooked dinner.

On Saturday we had the chance to meet up with some Fuse friends for brunch before having dinner with Nick and Kassondra (you might remember them from here). We then rang in the New Year with some friends from church.

On Sunday we headed to church, and then spent some time napping in the afternoon. On Monday the Christmas decorations came down, and today it was back to work for both of us. Luckily, it will be another short week for me--stay tuned to see what we're going to be up to this weekend!

Lots of love,
Nikki

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from the Nelson's!

2011 was quite the year! Brad and I took some time to reflect on the past year and think about 2012. Last year was a year of quite a few life changes: there was the wedding, two job changes, a new apartment, and a new church. Pictured below are some friends from our church group, Fuse.

We were fortunate to be able to travel--we honeymooned in the Dominican Republic:

I made my first trip to Milwaukee (and ran my first 10K):

We traveled to St. Louis for a beautiful wedding:

We also got to spend time with wonderful friends in Cape May:

We had the opportunity to celebrate babies, friends, turkey-making, and lots of other great events. We feel very blessed and are lucky to have such wonderful people in our lives. Here's to making even more great memories in 2012!

Blessings!

This is why Brad isn't allowed to go shopping with me...

We went to Target for a Wii Remote. We even had a gift card (thanks Aunt Betse and Uncle Chop).

Somehow Brad managed to end up with this...

A new iPad 2! Merry Christmas (again!). As for me, I ended up with this...

...a new toothbrush. Oh well. When it comes to marriage, what's yours is mine (I'm definitely referring to the iPad. Brad is NOT sharing my toothbrush).

Catch ya later!
