Our Key West Adventure: Day 1

After leaving Allentown at 7:00 a.m. last Wednesday, we arrived in Orlando for a short layover. We had the pleasure of traveling to Orlando with Jake, and it made the short trek very enjoyable! I enjoyed some Starbucks while we waited, but they unfortunately didn't know how to spell my name:

We boarded our second flight of the day in Orlando and landed in Key West around noon. Aunt Beth was there to pick us up from the airport, and we decide to stay in downtown Key West for the afternoon.

We grabbed a delicious lunch at the Hogfish Bar and Grill (which is actually on Stock Island), an open-air restaurant with a thatched roof and delicious seafood.

I had a lobster roll, which was delicious. Obviously...

A cat that walked by as we were eating...

After lunch we wandered around town, stopping at the southernmost point in the United States and checking out the Key West lighthouse.

Here we are at the top of the lighthouse!

We stopped at mile marker 0 for a photo opportunity before heading to the beach.

It was too cool to be an official “beach day,” but we stuck our toes in the ocean and got some great shots of these birds dive-bombing into the water, searching for food.

We headed to Aunt Beth and Uncle Gabby’s house a little bit before dinner and got settled in. When they got home from work, we enjoyed a meal together before wrapping up the day with some Modern Family. We also got to meet their friend, Lenny.

Lenny hangs out on the front porch.

Stay tuned for more of our adventures!
